Define complex terms

Define complex terms if you must use them.

Some Veterans are more familiar with a complex term that VA may use in other communications, so we keep it and define it. Add a plain language definition in parentheses immediately following the term or in a separate sentence. You can also lead with the plain language phrasing, followed by the complex term.
